Member Spotlight- Monica Greenhill
Monica Greenhill is the Director of Operations at North End Teleservices which she calls “home.” It is a place where she can go every day and show up as her true authentic self.
“I get to do the work I love, all while making an impact on our community. When you mix purpose with passion, you get a different experience. I am glad to be a part of it.”
As someone who cares greatly for her community, Monica is involved in many volunteering opportunities. She is a basketball coach at the Ames YMCA and enjoys spending her time there because coaching allows her to pour into our youth and love on them. During her time there, she not only teaches the basketball fundamentals but the importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship as well. Monica also teaches couponing classes at Fresh Start, which is a place for women experiencing homelessness to get back on their feet.
Lastly, when time permits, she spends time volunteering with the salvation army.
What a dedicated and selfless woman, spending time in and outside of work giving back to her community.
Monica says she decided to join NBWU because
“I was so excited to have a place to go where I could find support in other women who understood the adversities I face and the challenges black women endure in silence. A place where I could network, laugh, smile, and be understood. A place for me!”
Recently Monica was asked to be on the board for NBWU and is extremely excited for the journey that it will bring!
She looks forward to contributing to such a special place for black women to come together and share a space where they feel supported, valued, and heard. She feels that she has benefitted tremendously from NBWU in so many ways. From networking, to learning outlooks on critical life skills and feeling supported by other women that can relate to her story.
Along with being an amazing member, Monica is a friend, a sister, a mother of 4, and a strong believer in Christ. Her life story is unique and has allowed her to relate to others going through many different walks of life and helped push her to achieve some great things.
Monica received her undergraduate degree in business from Doane University, where she was awarded the Janice Hadfield Scholar Award. After that, she then received her business analyst certification from UNO. In her free time, Monica loves to spend time with her children, garden, and be outdoors. She is also a small business owner of a green cleaning company that she started in 2016.
We are so grateful to have such a dedicated and genuine woman as a part of our organization. Thank you so much for all you do for NBWU and our community.
