Honoring Black Women in Business

During the month of February, The GROW Nebraska Women's Business Center (GNWBC) is excited to be partnering with the Metro Omaha Women's Business Center (MOWBC), founded by BC Clark, and the Nebraska Black Women United (NBWU) organization to honor and celebrate Black women in business.

Founder of NBWU and client of the GNWBC, Carmen Tapio, is the inspiration behind this Black History Month programming. She is the epitome of leading with excellence. As the owner and CEO of her company, North End Teleservices, Today, Tapio’s company is the largest African American employer in Nebraska. Tapio has recently been recognized on the Forbes 1000 list and her company is 754 on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies in America.

Each week, two Black women in business will be featured in a vlog (video) series to share their journey both personally and professionally, and give advice to others on navigating life in the business industry as a Black woman.

"We are ecstatic to recognize, celebrate, and honor the hard work, drive, and determination of so many incredible Black women in our community," expressed Candice Price, executive director of the GROW Nebraska Women's Business Center.
